Well, That Answers That Question

I went to the doctor's yesterday. I had blood work done and an ultrasound of my ovaries. I gave so much blood! I'm very happy that I didn't faint thought. Usually, the second I feel the needle hit my vein, I pass out. They would have had to start over with a new needle. Ugh! The doctor didn't hae the results back by the time I had my untrasound, but the ultrasound answered the question of why I'm having trouble getting pregnant. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, or PCOS, is where the body produces too much of certain hormones that cause cysts on the ovaries, as well as prevent ovulation. It was really interesting being able to watch the ultrasound. The doctor used the computer to show my my ovaries and uterus, and used the program to measure them. One ovary was so covered in cysts it looked black. I'm now taking medication to help my body control the hormones and get rid of the cysts. I don't know how long it'll take, but I should get pregnant by the end of the year. I hate that there really was a problem, but it is nice to know that I can do something about it!
